FuelEU Maritime

The maritime industry supports a global fuel standard rather than a regional EU regime (namely the FuelEU Maritime regulation) as a necessary measure for meeting its decarbonisation objectives. A global goal-based marine fuel standard (GFS) is the appropriate approach to prevent the adoption of a patchwork of regional measures. EU efforts should be directed towards the full alignment of the FuelEU Maritime Regulation with the IMO GFS.

The EU should fulfill its intention to fully align its measures with the international agreement at the IMO.
