Scholarships

The Union of Greek Shipowners’ scholarship programme includes the following:

Every year the Union of Greek Shipowners grants a scholarship, preferably to a seafarer’s child, in memory of its late President Anthony J. Chandris. The scholarship concerns postgraduate studies of a pre-doctorate level in areas related to shipping in European Union countries, excluding Greece, including Great Britain, amounting to 10,000 Euros.

Also, the Union of Greek Shipowners grants an annual scholarship, preferably to a seafarer's child, in memory of its late member John A. Angelicoussis. This scholarship concerns postgraduate studies in areas related to shipping in European Union countries, excluding Greece, including Great Britain, amounting to 10,000 Euros.

Furthermore, via the Union of Greek Shipowners the following scholarships are also granted:

From the company “Neptune lines”, in memory of its founder Nikolaos Travlos, for postgraduate studies of a pre-doctorate level in areas related to shipping in European Union countries, excluding Greece, including Great Britain, amounting to €10,000.

From Mrs.Irene S. Daifas, in memory of her father Stavros A. Daifas, to one Greek University or TEI graduate for postgraduate studies of a pre-doctorate level in areas related to shipping at universities in European Union member states, excluding Greece, including Great Britain, worth US $15,000.

From the company POSIDONIA EXHIBITIONS SA, for postgraduate studies of a pre-doctorate level in areas related to shipping at universities in European Union member states, including Greece and Great Britain, worth €10,000.

Notices of these scholarships are announced in the fall of each year.
